Refund Policy

Digital nature of the product

Because each reading is generated on-demand and delivered to you immediately, the product is considered consumed at the moment of delivery. As such, all sales are generally final once the reading has been generated and emailed to you.

When we will issue a refund

We will issue a full refund in the following cases:

  • The reading was never generated or delivered (technical failure on our end).
  • You were charged but no reading was sent within 24 hours.
  • You were charged multiple times in error for the same reading.

When we typically cannot issue a refund

  • You don't like the content of your reading or disagree with its interpretation.
  • You entered the wrong birthdate. (We can regenerate the reading at the correct birthdate at no additional charge — just email us.)
  • You changed your mind after receiving the reading.

How to request a refund

Email hello@theclearing.me within 14 days of purchase with your order details. We aim to respond within 2 business days.

The Monthly Clearing — subscription refunds

The Monthly Clearing is a recurring monthly subscription at $11.00 USD per month. The rules above apply with the following clarifications:

  • Cancellation stops future charges immediately — once you cancel, no further charges are made. You can cancel in one click from the "Manage subscription" link in any of your emails.
  • The current month is not pro-rated. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep the reading already sent (or to be sent) for the month you've paid for, and no partial refund is issued for unused days.
  • If a monthly issue is never delivered, for example a technical failure on our end, we will refund that month's charge in full — email us and we'll process it.
  • Accidental renewals. If you intended to cancel and a charge slipped through within the first 7 days of the new billing period, email us — we routinely refund these as a goodwill gesture and immediately cancel the subscription.
  • Where the law gives you more. Some jurisdictions (e.g. the EU/UK, certain Canadian provinces) give consumers stronger statutory cancellation rights for subscriptions. Where those apply to you, they apply on top of this policy.

Chargebacks

Before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer, please contact us first. Most issues can be resolved more quickly by emailing us directly.
